10k Run 2016
This year’s 10k attracted nearly 100 competitors to the streets and countryside of Sherborne on yet another stunning morning, the likes of which are becoming synonymous with our annual events.
Runners of all ages and abilities took to our course for a mixture of goals; some using the race as a training run for other events, as well as a whole host of people competing in their very first 10k.
As with previous years, the course weaved it’s way through the sleepy streets of Sherborne before heading out into the surrounding countryside with some steady climbs and encouraging shaded lanes.
Our 2016 event also saw the previous course record smashed. A staggering time of 32 minutes 15 seconds saw Ryan Holroyd romp home to victory in the mens race, with Lynn Hutchings taking the womens race in 45 minutes 20 seconds.
As well as our competitors, many spectators turned out to make the most of the blistering sun and equally blistering running on show. As ever, the success of our events owes a lot to the support we get. A big thank you to this year’s sponsors Stalbridge Linen Services, all the marshals who gave up their time and The Hub for supplying their usual race day refreshments.
